Protect yourself from online identity theft
55With online activities are so common today, there are no doubts we all own Yahoo email, Gmail, online banking accounts and so on. But how do you set the passwords? Are you always using the same set of username and password across your online accounts including your sensitive online banking, Paypal or Ebay accounts? If so, you should pay attention to what I write here.
I have to tell you you will leave all your accounts at risk if for some reasons your user ID and passwords have leaked to the public or you have been scammed for a phishing emails.
I know it is a pain to set up different usernames and passwords for different computer systems that you can login to. But it's important. Why? Let's say you have an account in Ebay and also PayPal. You don't bother to set the different usernames and passwords for both accounts and your PayPal balance is $1000. One day you received an email from "Ebay" and said that you need to verify your account details by clicking the enclosed link in the email. Well you clicked on it as told and fill in your username and password. But later you found out that was a fake (in fact this was a "Phising" email and you try to login into your PayPal account and found out the money is gone! These days internet thief are very smart, they know every Ebay account holder always has a paypal account associate with it. So it is important to setup different passwords in different systems that you can log into and don't assume no one WILL ever know!
